VP & Chief Philanthropy Officer
In her role as vice president and chief philanthropy officer, Michelle Schneider puts her decades of fundraising leadership to work for a mission that matters greatly to her: bringing tangible improvements to the lives and well-being of our community members.
A long-time leader in fundraising, Michelle has dedicated her work to taking critical community fixtures — UNC-Greensboro, Habitat for Humanity and United Way — to a new level. As a consultant, she helped transform the philanthropic work of organizations like the YMCA, Greensboro Science Center, Holy Trinity Church and others.
She joined Cone Health in 2017 and often takes time to round with care providers and to engage in system-wide initiatives; this helps her to see, comprehensively and first-hand, the needs of the organization, along with the impact of giving.
Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in public administration from UNC-Greensboro. She and her husband, Bill, have two adult sons, Will and Dennis, and two dogs, Mogul and Luna. They have lived in Lindley Park for more than 25 years. She loves to spend down time in the North Carolina mountains. She is a member of the Women’s Professional Forum and Women to Women.
Senior Manager, Philanthropy Operations
Having spent his working life in service to various communities throughout North Carolina, Paul joined Cone Health in 2006 and leads operations through data management and reporting, gift processing and stewardship, prospect research, grant writing and communications.
Paul grew up in England in a family with a proud history in the medical field. With a passion for nonprofit work, he earned his bachelor’s in history from the UNC-Chapel Hill and a master's in public administration from East Carolina University, and went on to serve the community through the Country Doctor Museum, the ECU Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, ECU University Advancement and Elon University Advancement before joining Cone Health.
Tricia Teter Hale
Philanthropy Officer - Women’s & Children’s Services
As a philanthropy officer, Tricia directly supports pediatric and OB/GYN care. Tricia is a proud double graduate of Elon University with a bachelor’s in strategic communications and a master’s in business administration. (Go Phoenix!)
She lives the Cone Health promise of servant leadership in both her professional and personal life, serving on the board of directors for United Way of Greater Greensboro.
Naturally vivacious, Tricia needs no caffeine to power her and help balance the many facets of her life. In addition to serving the community, she teaches yoga and can also be found outdoors or eating a home-cooked meal with her husband, Alex.
As a philanthropy officer, Will directly supports Heart & Vascular care. He is a proud Demon Deacon and graduate of Wake Forest in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in economics and minor in psychology. He received his master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Georgia in 2010.
Will is excited about his work in healthcare philanthropy after a 12-year career at Elon University. He believes in helping others and is drawn to heart and vascular care specifically after his own family experiences with the exceptional care his grandfather received at Cone Health after his heart attack.
When not fundraising, Will loves doing all things Wake Forest sporting (Go Deacs!) and catching Carolina Panthers home games (Keep Pounding!) with his wife Erika and daughter Grace. And we can’t forget, he enjoys family time at home with their dog Kona too.
Tammy is a magna cum laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She joined the Cone Health team in 1997, and was an accountant and clinic registrar before working in philanthropy as a gift processor.
Tammy is extremely passionate about helping others and about community activism. At Cone Health, she values the opportunity to help community members maintain good health and enjoys participating in community engagement that connects them to critical Cone Health services. In addition, she likes to work with community nonprofits and currently serves on the board of the Sherri Denese Jackson Foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Tammy cares for her two children, Maya and Mel.
Stokes Ann Hunt
Director, Annie Penn Foundation
Stokes Ann became the director of the Annie Penn Foundation in 2011, after serving on the board of directors from 2006 to 2010. She works closely with the board to manage operational and strategic planning of foundation activities. She is a registered nurse with a master's degree in health administration.
Health care and its availability is a matter that is near and dear to Stokes Ann’s heart, along with expanding health care in rural and underserved communities and organ donation. In August 2020, Stokes Ann’s sister died after a battle with diabetes and chronic renal failure. In 2016, her husband had a kidney transplant due to polycystic kidney disease. Stokes Ann is deeply acquainted with the importance of access to excellent care — her commitment shows every day in her work to connect donors with projects that make a difference for community members and patients.
Program Manager, Annie Penn Foundation
Taylor joined Annie Penn Foundation in 2018. As program manager, she serves the foundation in event planning, marketing and community outreach. By engaging board members, community and staff about the Cone Health system and what it has to offer, she is able to help forward the foundation’s mission.
Originally from Eden, Taylor attended UNC-Charlotte and earned her bachelor's in communications with a concentration in health communications and a minor in sociology. When not serving the foundation, she loves a great cup of coffee and spending time with her daughter Charleigh, her husband, Roby and golden retriever, Champ.
Sr. Executive Assistant
Michelle has been a part of the Cone Health system since 2004. A dedicated teammate, she has held various roles including support of Women's Hospital facilities management and coordination of Volunteer Services.
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Michelle attended Massasoit Community College and earned an associate's degree in office administration, then attended Bridgewater State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and exercise science/health fitness with a minor in business.
When not working to serve others, Michelle enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, three amazing children and little fluff ball Fenway, a Maltipoo.
Engagement and Annual Giving Officer
Amy joined the Cone Health team in 2007 and graduated from Elon University with a bachelor’s in human services. Amy is a dedicated teammate that has served in various departments within the health system, including Wesley Long Surgery Center and Volunteer Services before joining the philanthropy team.
When not living out the Cone Health promise by always lending her co-workers a helping hand, Amy loves spending time with her son and two cats, Jersey and Mistletoe. She is also an active member of the Children's Adoption Services board.
Prior to joining the philanthropy team at Cone Health, Jennifer served as the marketing director for the Alight Foundation, a nonprofit supporting local women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Alight is integrated as a program offered by Cone Health.
Jennifer is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in communications. Having grown up in a Navy family, Jennifer now calls Greensboro home. She and her husband, David, have two children, Ashton and Jorja.
Prospect Research & Database Coordinator
RK joined Cone Health in 2020 as the prospect researcher & database coordinator. She considers herself a life-long learner, graduating from UNC-Greensboro with a bachelor’s and a master’s in accounting. She also earned an MBA from East Carolina University and a post-baccalaureate degree in training and development from Northcentral University in San Diego, California. From front-line fundraising to call center management, her passions for philanthropy and training have inspired her career and led her to Cone Health.
She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Temple Memorial Baptist Church, where she sings on the Praise Team and teaches the upper elementary class during children’s church. She most enjoys spending time with her family and her godchildren.
Corporate Events Manager
Jordan has been with the Alamance Regional Charitable Foundation since 2017. Originally from Mebane, she earned a bachelor’s in communications from Peace College, with a concentration in public relations and minors in Spanish and business.
Jordan was drawn to her work in healthcare philanthropy after her father valiantly fought cancer three times. She says: "The journey is difficult and long — support and advocacy are needed to get them through and to help them focus on getting better!"
When not living out the Cone Health promise through teamwork, marketing, and event planning, Jordan loves spending time with her family, being outdoors and enjoying all things sports.
